Odisha - DA goes up by 8 percent for state government staff

The State Government on Wednesday announced the first dose of 8 percent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for its employees. The enhanced rate of DA would be effective from January 1, 2013, a release from the office of the Chief Minister said. Retired persons would get the benefit of the enhanced dearness allowance. The arrear dues will be paid in cash along with the May salary of the employees and pension of retired persons, the release said. The State Government employees who are getting 72 per cent DA of their basic and grade pay, will now get 80 per cent DA, it said.
